We are currently doing adult foster care under someone elses license(we were originally to strictly be live-in providers, but things have not worked out that way) we are currently working on getting our own licensure--we have been working on this since the first of August--but because of problems with the currentl license holder it is causing delays in our licensure. This is what prompted me to send this message out. Can anyone give us good advise on how to get respite care?? The trouble that we have run into is that fellow providers in our area are unwilling to provide respite for our one, very easy to deal with, client because it doesn't pay enough. I am getting to a "panic stage" as I am 7 months pregnant and have no one who we can call for emergency respite. We like the man that lives with us, I just do not like him quite enough to have him at the hospital with us while we are having a baby! :-) Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks. Lynell Blanchard
